Whether you are looking for a care service or use one already, you should read the National Care Standard relevant to the service. You can use the standards when discussing the service with staff or management, or should things go wrong, they can help if you need to raise concerns or make a complaint.
Care at home services are provided in your own home. They provide help with personal care such as washing and dressing, eating and taking medication.

Hospices provide palliative care for people with chronic progressive conditions. The hospices have charitable status and don't charge people for their services.

Independent hospitals provide a range of services from acute psychiatry to all acute medical and surgical specialities, including cardiac surgery.

These services are provided privately by registered medical practitioners including GPs and consultants to patients in a variety of settings including private GP practices, private consulting rooms, beauty salons and the practitioner's own home.

Private dental services are provided in wholly private dental practices and in practices where private treatments are provided alongside NHS treatment.
