About the application process

Interested in the Climate Challenge Fund?

Once you've come up with an idea for a community-based project that could reduce carbon emissions get in touch using the Project Idea Form.

What happens next?

Once you've sent off your idea to us using the Project idea Form we'll get back to you within two weeks. You'll get a telephone call from a Climate Challenge Fund Development Officer at Keep Scotland Beautiful to chat over your idea and give you more advice.

If we think the Climate Challenge Fund is right for you, we'll pass on the Climate Challenge Fund full Grant Application form and guidance. If there is a more appropriate source of funding for your idea we'll give you that information too.

Filling out the forms

Don't worry if filling out the grant application forms seems daunting at first, a Development Officer will be on hand to help you get all the details down correctly.

Once you and the Development Officer are satisfied with the full Grant Application form the assessment process can begin.

The independent Climate Challenge Fund Grants Panel will take a look at your form and let you know the result within approximately 4 weeks.

Timing it right

Remember the Climate Challenge Fund runs on the financial year (1 April – 31 March), and closes on the 31 March 2011.

So we can consider funding your idea make sure that you complete and submit the full Grants Application form with Keep Scotland Beautiful before the funding round closing date.

Applications must be submitted 7 weeks before your intended Grants Panel meeting. Your Development Officer at Keep Scotland Beautiful will notify you of the next closing date during your application process.

Grants Panel Meetings

Panel date – Wednesday 24th February 2010.

The closing date for applications to the Climate Challenge Fund is Wednesday 13th January 2010. After this date, no new applications will be accepted, Expressions of Interest which are received after 13th January 2010 will be logged on our systems but will not receive any feedback or development work by the Development Officers.
