Who can apply?

The Climate Challenge Fund aims to get as many people as possible working together to tackle climate change. To achieve this we've decided to focus on funding community-led initiatives.

We put together some criteria that successful ideas need to meet, so make sure you read this page carefully before you fill in the Project Idea Form.

You don't have to find funding from other sources but joint funded projects are welcome.

To apply you must be:

  • Based in Scotland,
  • Legally constituted,
  • Not-for-profit distributing community groups,
  • From the community sector and not householders or individuals.

If you've got an idea for a project with a community focus then we'd love to hear from you, of course the community should be at the heart of developing the project idea and making it a reality.

What is a community?

The Climate Challenge Fund is aimed at the community sector; for example community groups, schools, and not-for-profit organisations, and these groups may also be supported by NGOs, voluntary sector or local government partners.

For example:

  • Energy
  • Transport,

  • Waste,
  • Behaviour Change/Capacity building
